Presidents Message
Thank you for visiting the new website for the Alberta Association of Private Investigators (AAPI). We hope that you find it informative, and that it assists you in locating a Professional Investigator who specializes in your requirements.
The AAPI was incorporated in 1996. It is a non-profit Association dedicated to representing our members and promoting the professional investigation industry. The AAPI represents members across the Prairie provinces, including Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba.
The Association is a founding member of the Canadian Association of Professional Investigators (CAPI) and as such, has a national voice. The executive interacts with Government and legislators on a National and Provincial level, particularly the Justice and Solicitor General departments, which regulate and license all our members.
The AAPI work with Justice to protect the public from unlicensed and unethical individuals. We strongly recommend that anyone thinking of hiring a Private Investigator follow these steps:
- Confirm they are licensed as a PI company or agency firm with Justice. Individuals are NOT licensed to work directly for a client. They MUST work for a fully licensed, insured Agency.
- Confirm Agency is licensed and in good standing with the Solicitor General.
- Confirm Agency is member in good standing of AAPI by using our Search Tool.
- Confirm Agency is experienced and capable of providing the specific service required.
Our members are bound by a strict code of ethics and abide by our professional oversight and discipline. Obtain professional service by hiring AAPI member Agencies!
